About Mrs Woolly's General Store

The warm, rustic charm pervades the air, crafting an inviting backdrop where casual gatherings feel effortless. The atmosphere at Mrs Woolly's General Store blends a cozy, vintage aesthetic with an understated vibrancy that suggests a community hub rather than just a cafe. The ebb and flow of patrons, along with soft indie music, lends a comforting rhythm to the setting. Observing the interaction between staff and guests reveals a relaxed but attentive approach, subtly balancing efficiency without sacrificing warmth. Patrons looking up Mrs Woolly's General Store reviews will often notice comments about this distinct blend of ambience and service style.

Some dishes from the menu stand out with their thoughtful execution, particularly the robust breakfast plates and freshly crafted sandwiches. Ingredients taste fresh and local, though occasional inconsistencies in portion size could affect expectations. Complementary baked goods and a selection of artisan coffees contribute to an experience that leans toward hearty and wholesome rather than extravagant. The photos shared online capture the earthy tones and rustic presentation well, but the real charm lies in the flavors and textures that unfold with each bite. While not every item hits the mark perfectly, the overall quality encourages repeat visits, especially from those appreciating a kitchen with heart and simplicity.

Although not always the quickest during peak hours, the service manages to feel genuine and unhurried, aligning with the restaurant’s easygoing nature. Value is reasonable for Glenorchy standards, if leaning slightly toward the pricier side for a small town cafe, which some reviews highlight as a point to consider. The mood carries an understated honesty—no pretense, just straightforward food and drinks served in a setting that embraces modesty. For casual diners searching online for Mrs Woolly's General Store restaurant impressions, the prevailing sentiment reflects a balance of comfort and quality, tempered by occasional lapses in timing and consistency.

Such a fun place to visit!! Lots of tasty treats and beautiful artwork, surrounded by stunning mountains. Really friendly people. Pretty pricey but it makes sense for the location. Love all the maps and murals.

Dropped by here as we drove along. Definitely liked the sausage roll and pies. It hit the spot! I had the sausage roll and pork+belly pie. I could have had another but my tummy waa ready to burst.

Stopped here a few weeks ago, had a delicious vegan pie and was pleased to see there were a few other vegan options in the cabinet (a wrap/sandwich and some sweet treats). Sat in the beautiful garden out the back, was lovely!

This cafe in Glenorchy is a great place to stop. It has a quiet, rustic atmosphere and offers a variety of items, including groceries, energy drinks, cabinet food, coffee, and wool products made in New Zealand.

One of the best pies and sausage rolls we have had!  found this on Google maps and thought it had to be our breakfast stop before going on the Glenorchy trail. We were then recommended to it again by our Airbnb host and thought it must really be good then.  not being big fans of pies, we decided to give it a shot since it’s known to be good for that and were we lucky to have tried! While it is slightly cheesy, the chicken thigh and mushrooms helped to make it acceptable, with a crust that doesn’t just fall apart but still is crispy to the bite!  the sausage roll was truly unique, having only had it in London, this was quite a different one seeing how big a chunk the sausage is, and how flavourful it is too! The insides of the sausage roll was also moist and wasn’t too dry which truly makes for a good sausage roll! We were also lucky to be able to have this since it doesn’t have a mix of beef bits in them.  coffee was also great for the large sized one, definitely a must get when looking for a drink to go with the pastries!  they do have a small tub for returning of cutleries, which helps them manage the cafe and the entire general store which consists of some souvenirs and clothing and general stuff too Definitely one not to be missed when coming to Glenorchy!

Came by on a whim while waiting for another store to open. Left with a matcha latte and cheese scone. The Matcha latte (with oat milk) was not too sweet but decent matcha taste. Their cheese scone was absolutely amazing, savoury and fluffy and served with butter. I wished I got another one. They mainly have an outdoor dining area, not so much of an indoor one.

A feast for the eyes with knick-knacks, trinkets and gourmet food to buy and take away. Their cafe has fresh food to purchase. My cousin and I enjoyed sharing a lemon cake and coffee. It was divine. As a tourist I was impressed with how accommodating this place was. When you're on the road as long as we were, you definitely want to stop somewhere good. This felt like home.
